Senior Class Update
March 28, 2017
We are proud of our Class of 2017! So far 24 seniors have successfully applied and have been admitted to the college of their choice!
Ten of our seniors have already qualified for Bright Futures Scholarships based on mid-year evaluations and two scored in the top 2% of all students taking the PSAT in the United States (based on their junior year scores).
Let’s keep our seniors in our prayers!
FACCS Fine Arts Competiition
By Gaby Padilla - May 16, 2016
The Middle school FACCS competition was this week. Many of our middle schoolers took part in it.
They could compete as a solo, duets, trios, or in small group. Ashley Bouza performed in three different things this year. She was in an instrumental duet, a trio, and a small instrumental group of twelve people. “It was a very fun and nerve wrecking experience,” said Ashley Bouza.
This competition is a fun experience for all the contestants. Not only do they get to experience the challenge of being in a competition and competing against other students from other schools, but they get to do it with their friends. Sharen Schroeder said, “I played tenor sax in a group. It was really fun. I liked being able to play in a group and stick around with the people I hang out with.”
“Even though it was very nervewrecking, I never gave up and I practiced really hard to do my very best,” said Yanellie Reguiero. Our students worked really hard to prepare for this competition. They had been preparing for a long time.
David Rohrer III said, “ I was really nervous, but I think I did well.” He played a piece by Beethoven called “Country Dance” on the piano. Mrs.Thomson was his coach. He said she trained him well.
