Westwood Christian School's Dress Code Policy

Westwood Christian School is a college preparatory school that has been successfully educating students for over 63 years. Our dress code is an important part of our success.

Boys:

Do's

• Hair Cuts: Classic cuts, hair has to be above the collar, 1 inch above the eyebrows, and above the ear
• Uniforms: Dennis Uniform’s polo shirts tucked into a classic fit khaki and finished with a belt (Visit Dennis Uniform for specific grade level requirements)
• Sweatshirts or Jackets: Only school sweatshirts and jackets are permitted
• Footwear: Sneakers, shoes, and socks

Don'ts

• Hair Cuts: No fad cuts, fades lower then 2, or designs on the head
• Uniforms: No uniforms purchased anywhere except the Dennis Uniform store
• Sweatshirts or Jackets: No sweatshirts or jackets other than official school apparel
• Footwear: No flip-flops, crocs, sandals, or any shoes or sneakers without socks
• Other: No earrings, body piercing, or tattoos

Girls:

Do's

• Hair Cuts: Classic cuts, hair may be highlighted in natural tones
• Uniforms: Dennis Uniform’s dresses, skirts, khakis, and polo-shirts tucked in. Skirt length must come to the knee in front when standing as well as when seated (Visit Dennis Uniform for specific grade level requirements)
• Sweatshirts or Jackets: Only school sweatshirts and jackets are permitted
• Footwear: Sneakers, shoes, and socks

Don'ts

• Hair Cuts: No multi-color hair
• Uniforms: No uniforms purchased anywhere except the Dennis Uniform store, no mini length skirts, ripped jeans, or leggings
• Sweatshirts or Jackets: No sweatshirts or jackets other than official school apparel
• Footwear: No flip-flops, crocs, sandals, or any shoes or sneakers without socks
• Other: No more then two sets of earrings, no body piercing or tattoos

COVID-19 Policy

We have learned a lot from the COVID-19 virus over the past 2 years. Changing our internal safety policy and procedures to align with those of CDC are important to maintain a safe and healthy school campus. In recent days the COVID-19 policies have been updated by CDC and our local health officials. As a school we are using these updates as guidelines to update our COVID-19 school policy and procedures. Please carefully read the updates for each individual grade level.

If a child in preschool or elementary tests positive for COVID-19, parents need to contact their child's teacher and inform them of the positive test result. The teacher will then contact the school nurse and Mrs. Ross. Once the school nurse has been informed, she will contact the parents regarding quarantine and return to school dates. Information regarding zoom codes and pickup of student books will be sent out by Mrs. Ross.

If a student in middle school or high school tests positive for COVID-19, parents will need to email Ms. Oksanen. Ms. Oksanen will then contact the school nurse. Once the school nurse has been informed, she will contact the parents regarding quarantine and return to school dates. Information regarding zoom codes and pickup of student books will be sent out by Ms. Oksanen.
