Dear Parents of our Current Students,
It is time to re-enroll for the 2007-2008 school year!
Thinking forward to the 2007-2008 school year is cause to reflect on what has been accomplished regarding Westwood Christian School's Improvement Plans. Major projects of the recent past are the elementary gym, the new high school/preschool building, the north and south playgrounds, the high school gym, upgrading of both the preschool, elementary, and middle school/high school computer labs, upgrading the softball and baseball fields, internet access in both computer labs, the libraries, and the journalism/yearbook lab, ASPIRE (after school program for instructional and recreational enrichment), the Accelerated Reader program established (and growing) and the middle/high school chapel renovation.
In recovering from last year's storms, during the present school year, all our buildings have had new roofs installed, a new gym floor is in place, and painting of the building exteriors is underway. The middle school building has been painted on the inside and is currently being updated. In addition, numerous curricular improvements have been made and will continue on an ongoing basis.
Looking toward the future, our plan is to continue the growth of our fine arts program in the same tradition of excellence as our music programs exemplify. We will continue to improve and expand the use of technology in the class room. The long term plan is to relocate grades K5 through 5th grade to the ranch location, to be completed in phases. The first big project is to relocate the computer lab and library to the mezzanine to be developed into a "state of the art" media center. Soon after classrooms will be modified to move K2 to the 6000 building and relocate K5 to the ranch. Thereafter, a grade-by-grade relocation of elementary will continue until the entire operation is at the ranch.
Literally millions of dollars have been invested in your children's education and spiritual training. Trusting the Lord with our plan, our vision is to build upon almost 50 years of ministry to the constituency of First Baptist Church, and Westwood Christian School.
· Pre-registration dates for children presently enrolled in our school: January 16 – February 16, 2007
· Receive a $50.00 per child reduction in registration fees if paid by February 16, 2007
· Positions in every class will be on a first-come, first-served basis
· Once we receive the following from you, we can reserve your child's place for the fall:
(1) Parent/Student Agreement with initials and signatures
(2) Registration form with signatures on both sides
(3) Registration fee
Please note that up-to-date health certificates are due for all students entering preschool, kindergarten, and seventh grade. These health certificates are the HRS 680 and HRS 3040 forms.
