Overview

The Westwood Christian School preschool program is a regular school program.  Consequently, your child learns much more than a traditional day care environment.  Our curriculum focuses on a number of developmental areas we find important to a child's success in the academic setting.  Here are some facts and highlights about our preschool program:

1. We are a Christian school; therefore, we teach from a Christian world view.
2. Our preschool is open to 2-4 year olds.
3. Half-day as well as full-day programs are available.
4. Students learn by playing fun and exciting games
5. Many visuals are used to stimulate learning.
6. Students learn by saying and doing, not just listening
7. Teacher-student ratio
   
   • 2 years old = 2 per 12
   • 3 years old = 2 per 20
   • 4 years old = 2 per 20
8. Teachers have a two-year teaching degree or 120 hours in child development or equivalent courses.
9. Teachers and helpers are trained in CPR yearly and in First Aid every three years.
10. Teachers and helpers themselves continue their own quest for knowledge by obtaining an additional 8 credit hours in their field each year.
