David Mark Robledo Library
WCS is excited to announce the completion of its new library for Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students on the first floor of the elementary!

In addition to purchasing new books and materials for this lower elementary school library, this initiative also required the purchase of bookshelves, a reading-themed area rug, bean bags chairs, as well as other library materials.
The goal of having this new branch library fully equipped for the 2008-2009 school year was achieved thanks to the generous help and hard work of many parents, grandparents, and friends of WCS.
The entire endeavor was launched when an anonymous school family threw out a challenge to all school parents. This family was willing to donate $500 by matching donations dollar-for-dollar. Sure enough, others took on that challenge, and we were soon able to meet our goal of $8,000.00! Altogether, there were 32 families, individuals, and organizations who donated toward the purchase of hundreds of books, AR quizzes, bookshelves, area rug, and couch.
Special thanks are in order to Mr. and Mrs. Figueredo who donated countless hours and funding to design a child-friendly, beautiful library. Some of the attractive furniture, such as the child-size rocking chairs, bean bags, Noah's Ark table and chairs, and librarian desk were donated by this very kind couple.
The library was dedicated to a child of God, David Mark Robledo, who went home to Heaven to be with his Lord at the young age of three. We rejoice as we realize that we who are born-again will have the wonderful opportunity to see David again in Heaven someday!

We look forward to seeing our students acquire a love for reading at a young age through attending this lovely library!
