Historical Identity
Westwood Christian School has been privileged to train thousands of boys and girls in the Miami-Dade County area for more than fifty years. Westwood Christian School, an inseparable ministry of the First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake, Inc., was organized under the direction of Dr. Marvin Gochenour in 1958. Pastor Marc Mortensen was called to replace Dr. Gochenour who retired after 46 years as Senior Pastor in March, 2004. Today, the two campuses matriculate almost 600 students each year from two-year old kindergarten through twelfth grade.
