Facts and Highlights

Founded: 1959; an educational ministry of First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake.

Head of School: Dr. Edwin LM Oksanen

Location: The elementary school is located in a residential area on SW 107 Avenue near Bird Road; the preschool, middle school, and high school are situated on 35 acres in Horse Country (includes a horse stable, horses, ponies, and swimming pools)

Students: Approximately 750 male and female students

Student Demographics: Evenly split between boys and girls; 85% Hispanic, 10% White, 2% African-American, 2% Asian, and 1% from other ethnic backgrounds

Financial Aid: Step Up For Students Scholarships (only for eligible students entering K5 or transferring from a public school)

Curriculum: College preparatory, including Advanced Placement and Honors courses

Chapel Services: Weekly

Library: Approximately 20,000 volumes

Technology: Two computer labs, classroom computers, campus-wide network, wireless enabled campuses

Interscholastic Sports: Member of the Florida High School Activities Association (FHSAA). Sports offered: baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, soccer, softball, volleyball

Performing Arts: Include core curricular and extracurricular opportunities in vocal music and band.

Community Service: Regular opportunities available in the afternoons for juniors and seniors; students may be counselors at Circle C Youth Ranch, our summer day camp for area children.
